Scottsdale, Ariz. – Oct. 15, 2024 – On Sept. 19, 2024, MC Companies organized its 3rd annual Volunteer Day, mobilizing employees across the organization to support food banks and combat food scarcity in local communities. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to social responsibility, particularly through its Sharing the Good Life Foundation.
The Sharing the Good Life Foundation is dedicated to building strong, vibrant communities and improving quality of life. By fostering personal connections and encouraging participation from employees, residents, family, and friends, the Foundation strives to make a meaningful difference in the world.
Results from the company-wide Volunteer Day:
- Across Ariz.:
- In Phoenix, volunteers at St. Mary’s Food Bank packed 10,368 emergency boxes, significantly exceeding the previous record of 5,796 boxes set in 2023. Each box is vital in addressing food insecurity in the area.
- The Tucson team contributed by filling 12,800 emergency boxes at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
- Sierra Vista volunteers dedicated their time to St. Vincent de Paul, demonstrating the importance of community involvement in addressing hunger.
- In Flagstaff, employees collaborated with the Flagstaff Family Food Center, contributing their time and donating $1,000 to support the center’s mission.
- In Texas:
- The San Antonio team packaged 21,973 pounds of food, providing approximately 17,579 meals for families facing food insecurity.
- The Austin team supported the Circle of Hope Community Center Food Pantry, fostering hope and resilience within the community.
- The Houston team also actively engaged at the Houston Food Bank, working collaboratively to combat hunger and support local families in their community.
- In Nev.:
- At the Three Square Food Bank, MC Companies team members packed 4,200 pounds of food for families facing food insecurity.”
